Happy New Year!
I just updated to wordpress 2.7, both here on this ghost town of a blog, and also at flixnjoystix.com. So far I really think it’s really great! Its amazing how much wordpress has improved since I started using it.. which I think was back before the 2.0 days.
Some really cool features are included in the 2.7 update, my favorite being the includes of the automatic update plugin directly into wordpress itself. Also really cool, I can browse the plugins and install directly into the blog, instead of having to download it, and manually copy it over. Little things like that really improve the experience of using wordpress.
I think it’d really be cool to have something similar to the plugin browsing for themes. Right now tons of people make themes and they are all over the place. But it’d be nice to have one central location for themes where I can try them out, and install them without having to copy them over to my hosting myself.
Hmm… maybe with all of these new wizbang features in wordpress, I’ll start updating this site more. Then again, maybe not :). Only time will tell.
I was checking out Penny Arcade and I caught a link to a band called the Protomen. If you’re a fan of Mega Man you really should check it out.
Now I’ve heard a lot of remixes of old game music, and that is great. I absolutely love the music from the games I used to play as a kid. But this is something new to me. This group is creating a sort of rock opera sound telling stories of Mega Man.
It’s kind of silly, because these games really had very simplistic and cheeseball stories. But hearing this music brings back that epic feeling I used to create in my head when I played video games as a kid.
I recommend listening to “Hope Rides Alone”. It’s great!
I can waste so much time looking at lolcat pictures. They are always hilarious.
